Friends of Chicago Public School is a 501(C)(3) public charity established for educational purposes. Specifically, our mission is to serve and support those students within the Chicago Public School system who are underserved.

All of our board members are parents of children who attend or have attended Chicago Public Schools. Through many years of fundraising we have supported our neighborhood school. However, we decided to extend our reach and work hard for a greater number of children. Many schools within the system lack the support that some school communities enjoy. Our work focuses on breaking down academic and non-academic barriers
facing our children.

Friends of  CPS is a volunteer organization. The board members as well as a group of additional volunteers will carry out all activities. The bold thrust of our organization is fundraising. Through major events, donations, federal grants, foundation grants and corporate sponsorships we will reach our goals. Our plan is to exhaust every opportunity to help our children. Volunteers include parents, active and retired educators, business owners, attorneys and executives.
